PRE REGISTRATION PROGRAM FOR OVERSEAS QUALIFIED NURSES (PPOQN)

• 11 weeks in duration- 3 weeks of theory classes delivered in Melbourne and 8 weeks of clinical placements in both Melbourne and Sydney.
• Students are expected to submit two written assessments and the rest is assessment of students’ clinical skills whilst in placement.
• The course leads to registration as a Div 1 with the Nurses Board of Victoria
• Delivered by accredited Third Party Provider which is Australian Academy of Nursing


REQUIREMENTS

• Letter from the Nurses Board of Victoria (NBV) stating their eligibility to undertake the course
• Successfully pass IELTS overall 7.0 (Academic) with no score below 7.0 in Writing and Speaking and no score below 6.5 in Listening and Reading. OET score must be B in each skill area
• Police record check
• Immunisation record (see attached)

PLEASE NOTE: PARTICIPANTS COMING FROM OVERSEAS MUST APPLY FOR A VISA OTHER THAN A STUDENT VISA.

ENROLMENT PROCEDURE

• Once all the requirements have been satisfied, application must be made to AAON by submitting UB application form, together with all the relevant documentation as required above.
• AAON will interview the student to determine suitability for the course.
• Once successful, students’ paperwork will be submitted to the University for the issuance of letter of offer.
• Fees must be paid directly to the University’s account number stated in the letter of offer. Student must submit this payment together with the acceptance of offer. Fees for 2009 is $10000 AUD.
• Visa processing commences. Once approved, please advise AAON to confirm student arrival.
